Indigestion Common Causes and Symptoms and Home Remedies for Stomach Acid Indigestion

Indigestion is the most often pronounced ailment of modern times branching out into varied abdominal diseases. The most common one would be Gastritis. The most common symptoms of indigestion can be very different. However, each individual may experience symptoms differently. Among them include: pain and discomfort in the upper abdomen, belching, diarrhea, bowel sounds strong. (Rumbling), nausea, constipation, poor appetite, flatulence (gas), etc. If the indigestion is accompanied by vomiting, sudden weight loss, stool looks black with tar, blood in the vomit, severe pain in the upper abdomen, shortness of breath or sweating, the problem may be more serious. Consult your doctor immediately.


Stomach Acid Indigestion Remedies

1. Drink ginger tea right after eating to promote good digestion

2. One of the most effective remedies is by adding a small amount of baking soda to a glass of water and drink it.

3. To get rid of the symptoms, mix equal amount of honey and lemon juice then drink it

4. To treat acid indigestion, you can also mix cider vinegar or some lemon juice to a glass of water, drink it before taking a meal.

5. Another effective remedy of acid ingestion is the use of mint essence.

6. Drop 2 to 3 mint essence to a glass of water and drink it every 3 to 4 hours

7. Herbal teas such as raspberry, mint, chamomile, and blackberry are also proven effective in treating acid indigestion.

8. To prevent acid indigestion, avoid alcoholic drinks and smoking. You should also have a healthy lifestyle such as having regular exercise, eating healthy food and getting adequate sleep or the recommended 8 hours of sleep

9. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day or even more.

Avoid large meals. Try to take meal in gaps. Increase intake of water. Eat meals on time and chew them properly. Jackfruit is a sweet and delicious fruit. Eating excess of jackfruit can cause indigestion. This problem is mainly occurs in children. For curing the problem children should be fed on banana.

Alcoholic beverages and smoking should be avoided. Avoid tea, coffee and other drinks that contain caffeine. Avoid hot spicy and fatty foods. Restrict intake of chocolates.
